Crucial 2GB 667 Mhz CT25664AC667 DDR2 200-Pin SODIMM Laptop Memory Description:
A small outline dual inline memory module SODIMM consists of some memory parts usually black that are attached to a printed circuit board usually green. SODIMMs get their name because they’re smaller and thinner than regular DIMMs. The gold pins on the bottom of the SODIMM supply a connection between the module and a socket on a bigger printed circuit board. The pins on the front and back of a SODIMM aren’t connected. 200 pin SODIMMs were used to offer DDR and DDR2 SDRAM memory for notebook computers. 200 pin SODIMMs are available in PC2700 DDR SDRAM, PC3200 DDR SDRAM, DDR2 PC2 6400 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2 5300 SDRAM, DDR2 PC2 4200 SDRAM and DDR2 PC2 3200 SDRAM. To use DDR or DDR2 memory, your system motherboard must have 200 pin SODIMM slots and a DDR or DDR2 enabled chipset. A DDR or DDR2 SODIMM won’t fit into a regular SDRAM SODIMM socket. Information about which memory technology your system uses is included in the Crucial Memory Advisor&trade, tool. The number of black parts on a 200 pin SODIMM can differ, but it generally has 100 pins on the front and 100 pins on the back, for a total of 200. 200 pin SODIMMs are roughly 2.625 inches long and 1.25 inches high, though the heights can differ. Like 144 pin SODIMMs, 200 pin SODIMMs have one small notch inside the row of pins, but, the notch on the 200 pin SODIMMs is closer to the left side of the module.

Verified PurchaseWhat’s this?
I own the ASUS Eee PC 1000 10 Inch Netbook 1.6 GHz Intel Atom N270 Processor, one GB RAM, 40 GB hard State Drive, 20 GB Eee Storage, Linux, six Cell Battery Pearl White.
About a half hour ago this memory card arrived in the mail. I opened up and removed the small plastic cover on the bottom of my computer, released the clips holding the original supplied one GB memory card in place when you release the clips, the card pops up for easy removal, replaced the original card with this one, replaced the cover, put in the battery, and turned on the computer.
This new memory card was instantly recognized.
I didn’t have to press the F2 or F10 key. I don’t know why many others had to do this and I don’t doubt their experiences but, now after I installed the card and turned on the computer in the normal fashion, I checked the memory available and there was my two GB of RAM showing.
The complete mechanical installation procedure is quite simple and straightforward. The only tool needed is a small Phillips head screwdriver mine came in a screwdriver set from Dollar Tree! to take off the screws. Note that, for the Asus Eee PC 1000 line, there are some number of YouTube videos which show in detail the whole procedure which takes no more than two or three minutes. The hardest part? Carefully removing the plastic cover on the back of the computer. The screws remove easily but there are some number of interior plastic clips on the sides of the cover not visible which must be released gently so as not to break them they do seem robust, however.
Once the cover is removed, really removing and replacing the memory is simple.
I used Crucial memory cards in other laptop computers over the years and I have generally found them to be totally dependable.
Therefore I greatly recommend this memory card, particularly for Asus Eee PC 1000 holders.

.If putting in 2GB module in eee pc 1000 you have to restart computer after installing the RAM and keep pressing F2. Then press F10 to accept the settings in the BIOS. Now your eee pc will recognize the two GB module
Yeah,.. plug and play. Right
Peace, scott

I bought this RAM caused by the recommendation from to go with my Samsung NC 10 netbook. This isn’t matched RAM for your netbook. I have been having system crashes from the minute I installed the RAM. If you look at Crucial’s web site you’ll see it states that the matched RAM for that netbook is DDR2 PC2 6400 CL=6 Unbuffered NON ECC DDR2 800 1.8V 256Meg x 64 which isn’t the same as this. I think the real product is good just not working with my NC 10. Just a heads up.
